Comparison of Seidon and Athens
Our city-state Seidon is most like Athens. Just like Athens, Seidon is mostly surrounded by water and mountains. Due to the surrounding water, both city states are mainly based on trading. Additionally, our language and education are very similar. For instance, we both speak the common language and worship the same gods by using acropolises. The boys of each city state receive the same education, however, all boys in Seidon get educated where as in Athens only wealthy boys get an education. Furthermore, Seidon's population is similar to the population of Athens. We have almost the same ratio of people, but on a smaller scale. Just like Athens, Seidon has slaves, and women have minimal rights and serve as housewives. Seidon's views of foreign civilizations are also similar to Athens views because we are allies. Such as our opinions towards Persia and our ranking to other city states. Additionally, we do not have a huge military, but use the water to our advantage and have a strong navy.
The main difference between Seidon and Athens is the setup of the government. Seidon has a government similar to Sparta. The government is made up of a monarchy, oligarchy, and democracy. This government works well with both city-states and allows the citizens to have some rights in politics but the king is still the main ruler. Seidon is most like Athen's in many ways such as geography, social classes, regionalism, nationalism, and education.
